Today is a cold and rainy day.. and it is the start of our 1st ‘wedding project’ . I searched the net high and low for a suitable model. Finally i found 3 models that i think would suit my criteria.

Starting off with the 1st project

THE WEDDING PROJECT #1
Objectives: To acquire as much ‘creative’ wedding shots as possible from an outdoor shoot with minimal lighting help and as much natural lighting as possible. Photos need to be ‘non-conventional’ and has a story behind it. A picture without a story is like a plate of nachos without cheese or chocolate fondue without chocolate… well you get the idea.. In every picture i take it must and I insist it MUST have a mood/story that speaks for itself when an individual looks at it. A story without a plot is like reading a book without an ending.

The reason for such a project is to submit these pictures to competitions that are coming up and WIPP conventions for exhibition and promotion purposes.

The reason for this project is to explore the amount of creativity that can be achieved without time constrains that you have in a real wedding.. Let the juices flow and the camera snapping. Our 1st project has been set and ready to go… Here are the details.. people wishing to join in can email me on weddings@couple.com and we are always happy to give out ‘Time for Print/CD’ services as long as we have time for it…

OH man i was so excited driving my ass over to mount waverly on my way to collect my 17-50mm f/2.8 lens… On my way there i was gasping with anticipation to see how doest the quality of the Tamron is compared to the 17-55mm Canon.. I’ve read like a million posts and agreed that the Tamron is way more worth it compared to the 1k+ Canon 17-55.. The pro is that they have IS which brings them to an advantage with lighting issues but other than that… nah it aint worth the extra $500.. i got the so called famously “noisy” Tamron which to my amazement did a very good job! I was really amazed at the quality it produced… for $470 i understood why it won a whole lot of awards.. No regrets..

On my way home i stopped by Bamboe restaurant an Indonesian restaurant apparently were famous around that area of homesglen college. I stopped by whipped out my camera and went snap crazy.. Here are the results after some editing..

poor GF o mine becoming my test subject :P

Wow~ i am getting so old~ Did not know already 24 years have passed and i am still doing nonsense like these… Blogging my life away. Taking pictures of life itself each frame i take, is a life passed but stored in the 2 gig CF card..haha.. but heck i have one of the best meals thanks to my dearest Sutji who brought me to a place called Barbarinos and Wongs. Asian Western Fusion. And i tell you… it is superb! Started off with an e tree of sweet succulent fresh oysters… 6 raw 6 Kirkpatrick… reminded me of some one when i saw the oysters :P .. you know who you are…

Anyway~ got down to 3 mains that we ordered to share.. the Lamb Shank, the Fish curry with roti and last of all the BBQ ribs and chicken wings… all were fairly delicious but all meat! no veg…-.- meatetarian~

After the meal had some fun taking pictures with Sutji’s aunty and her and as usual being a photographer.. they expect me to be like a know it all of photography ordering me to take this and that.. etc etc.. geez~ anyways it was fun

Last but not least headed to Michael and Jasons place to have a cake cutting ceremony and thats it for the day.. have to work the next day~ geez~

Menu board… love the chalk writting and the texture of the door!

img_0210.jpg

Reception Barbarinos & Wongs.. moody nya~

img_0228.jpg

Mind you i am an interior designer as well and the lights are simply magic! although it can get a little glaring when you are eating.

img_0217-copy.jpg

Things i do while waiting on my food… *hungry*

img_0227.jpg

ENTREE has arrived!!

img_0241.jpg

GONE in 60 seconds!! haha..

img_0244-copy.jpg

FISHY curry with roti… superb~

img_0217.jpg

LAMB shank~ i give it 7.5/10 … had betta elsewhere

img_0259-copy.jpg

BBQ ribs and chicken wings~ nothing special but tasty!!! the ribs!! yumimg_0260.jpg

I took the pics at ISO800-1600 because the place is as dark as a cave and therefore it explains the excessive noise level but i kind of like the noise because it gives it a sort of character that i have always try to achieve with all my photos a sense of mood and texture. I hope i manage to archive it hehe.. thats it for my Barbarinos and Wongs Birthday experience…Thanks to them and my luvly Su for organizing and shouting for me.. :P cheers

Mind you.. all the pics are copyrighted to Frozen moments and Melting moments.

Introducing Trash the wedding dress** September 29, 2007

Filed under: STUFF I REALLY WANNA DO — TanTW @ 3:34 pm

Introducing “Trash the wedding dress” to Australian weddings….This blog is all about introducing new ideas and newer ways of capturing moments in a wedding or portraiture shots that is DIFFERENT and not some close up of an old detailed wrinkly face.(boring) Tell me something new.. show me something new..

I wanted brides and grooms to break the old thinking of being the princess for the day! being on the best behavior for the day~ these are what my mum and grand nanas would do..

I want brides and grooms daring enough to be different and experiment and play with the new ideas of what a wedding should be like and what a photographer should take..

no more kissy kissy pictures or fake studio doll like set-ups.. get down and dirty, jump in a lake..have a mud fight anything!!.. lets make a difference~Check the video out and i reckon everone would rather thrash their dress than keep them in a mint box collecting dust and growing home made fungus…
